New Year Rituals

Every new year I create a new year ritual as an opportunity to reset and renew. Each year brings its own challenges and triumphs so when it comes to welcoming in the new year I take time to acknowledge my journey for the year that is ending and peak into setting a theme for the coming year.

The rituals this year were unique to the year we had. The first ritual included spending the 31st in a sensory deprivation float tank for a 90 minute session. My intent for this ritual was to wash away the past year. While meditating in the tank, I spent time washing away the hurtful things that were said to me because of my politics, for the frustration I took out at the television, and to forgive myself for all of it. I washed away the frustrations I had for the delays in launching Souljym. There was a lot of clearing. Once purged, I could focus on the positive. How I suspended 3 months of my dream by making face masks in March - June. I honored myself for learning a skill of an app and created Jymbag in July and test drove it with friend in August. I had to make a platform switch and did a soft launch in October. After the session and a New Year's Eve dinner, I cheered in the new year with champagne.

The New Year's day ritual included a RASHA session at lunch. According to their website, the RASHA system is a scalar-plasma-sound technology: An advanced base-12 resonant frequency generating software that harmonizes the autonomic nervous system by harmonizing the left and right hemispheres of the brain thus relieving stressors and transmuting negative habitual mental patterns. My intention with this session was an energy field reset. To start the year balanced and relaxed. This session was amazing. I floated out the door as if I didn't know gravity existed and glided into the new year.

The last ritual for the New Year is to set a personal theme for the year. A theme keeps me focused for the year and I don't have to feel bad if I break an resolution and return to an old habit. A theme is like a personal theme song for the year. This year for the theme I chose a quote by Roy T Bennett, "Don't be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart." So I will be heart-strong and forge forward in my passion in 2021. Happy New Year!
